I don't usually talk politics because it usually causes disagreements. But this is my blog so i can say what i want right???
There was a caucus in Iowa yesterday where Obama and Huckabee were the winners. If that decided the candidates for the November election, which would win i wonder??? If the choice were a southern baptist or a black man which would our country elect?
What do you think??? Who is more likely to be elected? A woman, a Mormon, a black man or a white christian??? Now i am not asking who YOU are voting for i am just asking what you think will be the outcome of a national vote.

I think a white, Southern Baptist, from Arkansas would be most likely to win (look at our last 2 presidents), but it will be interesting to see how everything unfolds. I don't know, at this point, how surprised I would be to see one of the others win, making and changing history. All I can say is, God bless whoever is next in line.
My 2 cents is that the Dems only have a chance if Hillary ISN'T nominated. Sure there are people who like her, but I think people underestimate how many people HATE her. People who don't normally get out and vote will do so just to vote AGAINST Hillary. Look at voter turnout in Iowa. Beyond that, your guess is as good as mine.
But here's a good joke:
So this election gives us the option between a woman president, a black president, or a Mormon president. Let's just nominate Gladys Knight!
Sounds like one of those bad jokes you hear...
"A woman, and Mormon, and a Baptist walk into a bar..."
All we need now is a Jewish candidate.
Hey Alison,
I really don't know who is more likely to be elected. Let's say it was between Obama and Huckabee. Normally I'd say that Huckabee would take it, but I really think so many people are dissatisfied with President Bush that Obama would have a very good chance just because people want something different.
And then to switch subjects slightly, and add my unsolicited 2 cents, as a Mormon, it REALLY bothers me to see people stumping for Romney just BECAUSE he's Mormon. I mean, seriously, all Mormons do NOT think alike, and just because someone is Mormon does not make him the best choice to lead our country. If anything, I am using a much tighter criteria for Romney. If we are to have our first Mormon president, I want to know that he will be an upstanding example of a Latter-Day Saint, and not someone who will tarnish the image of the church. Just my 2 cents. Carry on....
I have to agree with Sheyenne. Better to NOT have a Mormon pres. than to have one under a public microscope unintentionally undoing the hard work that Pres. Hinckley and others have done to put the Church in a the most favorable light it has ever seen. We may be a peculiar people, but really...this could go just a little too far.
